Tail Ace Revision History
Version 2.0.1
Bug Fixes:
- After changing fonts, the font style changes the window but new lines are switched back to the old font
Version 2.0.0
Enhancements:
- Location bar added to the right side of the vertical scroll bar. This will place a black tick mark in the
area showing you where your markers have been place (you place a marker on a line by holding the control key
down and clicking on a line). The location bar also shows color displays (color corresponding with the color
display) in the bar. You can see exacly where specific words/phrases are located in the tailing window now.
Only the color displays that have the "Show in Location Bar" set in the Color Displays window will show up.
To quickly access where the markers/color displays are, you can scroll to the area adjacent to the bar or
simply click on the bar to have the program automatically scroll to that position
- Program now remembers the color display and filters set to files so when they load up again, the filters and
color displays are automatically assigned. This only works for files that are favorites, or are added to
your list of favorites
- User can now set the font that they want to use for display in the tailing windows. You can change this on
the display tab in the Settings
- User can specify the default font size for files that you are tailing. Note: this will not change files you
are tailing when you change the setting unless you change the font style as well. However, reopening the
file you are tailing will change that font size
- Added a right-click option to remove all markers that the user has set
- Tooltip on tab shows the actual path of the file being tailed. Just place mouse over tab name and it will
be displayed
- User can click on the selection column's header in the color displays table to select the color displays
that are not currently set and unselect the color displays that are set
- Handle printing correctly. The program no longer needs to use adobe acrobat reader for printing files.
It works just fine without now. No more need to assign the acroRd32.exe path or anything like that. No
more need for Adobe!
Program Changes:
- Moved "Clear Window Text" lower down the right-click menu. It was too easy to click that when wanting to
perform a "Copy" from the right-click
- Restructure Settings window to be less cluttered
- Handle printing correctly. Changed the printing so that the user dosn't use acrobat reader and the user doesn't have to set the
acroRd32.exe path
- Updated documentation
Bug Fixes:
- Popup (right-click) menu can be outside of viewing area on window
- Popup (right-click) stays up when you have other windows over the top
- User could add the same file multiple times using the drag-and-drop feature
- Other small bug fixes
Version 1.1.0
Enhancements:
- Allow user to view and open recently opened files (from main window)
- Drag and drop support for files in the program. Simply drag a file from the computer screen directly
onto the "Add files" button or the left button section of the main window.
- Allow user to set a marker on a specific line for easy finding again. This is done by holding the Control
key down while clicking a line for a file that is being tailed. This will place a yellow highlight on the
line you clicked. If there is already a marker on a line that you click, the marker will be removed.
Bug Fixes:
- Program doesn't remember the last place you opened a file from. Program now remembers where the last place
a file was located. When opening the window to browse to a file, you are taken to the last place you opened
a file from.
- Other small bug fixes.
